Tipperary Coaching Day, Nenagh, Saturday 17th
January 2009
The County Coaching
day took place on Saturday last in the Indoor Track in Nenagh and
was a great success. This was a new venture for the County and the County
Clubs came out in full force with
118 athletes taking part on the day.
Both Field Events (High Jump, Long Jump, Triple Jump & Shot Putt) & Track Events
(Sprints, Middle Distance, Relays & Hurdles) were catered. Our thanks to Emby Walsh who was chief organiser of the day and to all her helpers. Thanks
are also due to the following
coaches who gave their
valuable time & expertise on the day:-
Sprints - John Carew, Doneen
A.C. & Philip Carney, UL.
High Jump - Jim Ryan, Claremorris,
Martin O' Grady & Paddy Morgan, Nenagh
Olympic.
Long Jump - Jacqui Freyne, AAI
Regional Development Officer, Gareth Devlin,
AAI High Performance Manager & Jerry
Lyons, Templemore.
Hurdles - Denis Finnerty, Nenagh Olympic & Philip Carney, UL.

Olympic, Anthony Moynihan, Clonmel.
Finally, thanks to all the Clubs who turned up and supported the day and to
the Club coaches & parents who helped out. A similar day for younger
