9 Munster Titles for Tipperary Juniors

The Munster Junior Indoor Championships took place on Sunday last, 21st March in Nenagh Indoor Stadium. 8 Tipperary athletes took part on the day winning 15 medals (9 gold, 2 silver & 4 bronze) between them.

 

In the Junior Women’s events, Aoife Bartley, Carrick-On-Suir A.C. captured 3 titles on the day winning gold in the 60mH (10.20), Long Jump (5.27m) & Triple Jump (10.47m) & silver in the High Jump (1.40m). Her team-mate Hannah Trehy won silver in the 400m (65.16) & bronze in the 60mH (10.45). Chloe Fahy, Nenagh Olympic won 2 titles winning gold in the 60m (8.26) & High Jump (1.50m) with her team-mate Margaret Mary Grace winning bronze in both the 200m (29.03) & the 400m (65.89). Eimear Lynch, Newport also won 2 titles winning both the 200m (27.01) & the 400m (64.08). Siobhan Hennessy, Moycarkey Coolcroo won bronze in the 3km Walk (18.30.95) with Evan Lynch, Clonmel winning gold in the Junior Men’s 5km Walk in a time of 24.46.18.  Shane O’Dwyer, Carrick-On-Suir won gold in the High Jump (1.78m) & came 4th in the Long Jump (5.92m). Congratulations to all 8 athletes who competed very well in their chosen events.
