Clonmel Fun Run  Race 4

Well done to everyone for been so patient despite the very cold weather. The race format tonight where the slowest person went off first and the fastest group went off last. This type of race always guarantees a great event as everyone has a great chance of winning and so the finish can be a blanket finish. That was the case tonight as we had 28 athletes finishing within 60 seconds of the winning time, while 63 athletes finished less than 2 minutes off the winning time. This type of race depends on weather condition and again well done to everyone for been so patient. We may run this race format again in this series.
There are three more races to go and weather permitting we might try a few more different formats.
The winner tonight was Stephen Murphy and he started out in group 26 which was 11 mins 30 secs after the first athlete started. Then we had Dan O Keeffe who was in group 6 while Katie Hanson was in group 11. In 4th place we had Paschal Mansfield and he started in group 12 which was 7 mins 45 secs after the first athlete. In 5th place we had Joe McNamara and he started in group 10 while in 6th place we had Belinda St John who started in group 9. Rebecca Purcell was 7th and she started in group 15 and she started 9 mins 15 secs after the first athlete. Well done again to all the winners and hopefully many of you achieve PB’s on what was a cold night.
Remember we will be promoting the Inter Firms 4 Mile Road races starting March 31st for 4 weeks, start organising your teams now.
We will leave the race format for next week open and it will depend on the weather, so come prepared for every eventuality.
Thanks again to all the stewards for all the help. We have three more nights to go and again we will like to see some new faces give us a helping hand at organising the event..
