ON YOUR MARKS, GET SET….GO!

OVER 200 LITTLE ATHLETES ENJOY FUN ATHLETICS WITH TIPPERARY HURLING STAR LAR CORBETT IN TIPPERARY COUNTY JAMBOREE

At the McDonald’s Little Athletics Jamboree in Thurles, over 200 children aged 5-10 gathered together to be put through their paces by Tipperary GAA star Lar Corbett, on Friday 4^th June 2010

Held in association with Thurles Crokes Athletics club, Tipperary County Board and the Athletics Association of Ireland, the event aims to spread the word and motivate more children in that crucial development age bracket of 5-10yrs to be more active and get involved in athletics.  McDonald’s Roscrea kindly supplied refreshments for all the little athletes.

The McDonald’s Little Athletics Jamboree challenges the children in a fun and exciting way with many different types of events including fun relays, the Speed Bounce, Balance Beam, and Standing Long Jump, all of which aim to develop  the fundamentals of Agility, Balance and Co-ordination. Tipperary has 13 clubs that  incorporate the little athletics programme in their athletics coaching.
