The Annual Coillte Road Races were held on Wednesday 6th July in Dundrum. With over 300 runners from 44 different Clubs in attendance, it was a very successful eveing with 4 New Course Records being set.

World Junior Selection for Mawdsley


Congratulations to Sharlene Mawdsley, Newport A.C. who has been selected to compete in the 200m & the 4 x 100m Relay at the World Junior Track & Field Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland which starts on 19th July. Sharlene has been in superb form this year winning double Irish Schools 100m & 200m titles & setting two new Irish Schools records & also winning the National Junior 200m on 2nd July & we wish her the very best of luck in Poland.

European Youth Selection for Ryan

Congratulations to Daniel Ryan, Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. who has been selected to compete in the Decathlon at the European Youth Track & Field Championships in Tbilisi, Georgia on 17th & 18th July. Having spent the first third of the year recovering from injury, Daniel is coming back into form again & achieved the European standard in his first ever Decathlon in Somerset, England in mid April. He will be the first Decathlete to compete for some time for Ireland at a major Championships & we wish him well in his endeavours.

Double Gold for Daly at Tailteann Games

The GloHealth Tailteann Games took place in Morton Stadium, Santry on Saturday 25th June. Star athlete for Tipperary was Miriam Daly, Scoil Mhuire Carrick-On-Suir/Carrick-On-Suir A.C. who won double gold in the 80mH & 300mH & anchored the Munster Girls 4 x 100m Relay team to a silver medal win. Other gold medal winners were Sean Mockler, Thurles CBS/Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. (Hammer) who also won bronze in the Discus & Claire Rafter, Ursuline Thurles (1500m), Silver medals were won by Jake Vermeer, Comeragh College/Carrick-On-Suir A.C. (400mH), Joseph McEvoy, St. Anne's Killaloe/Nenagh Olympic A.C. (High  Jump) & Jade O'Farrell Bond, Borrisokane CC/Borrisokane A.C. (Hammer) with bronze for Sean Carolan, St. Mary's Newport/Nenagh Olympic A.C. (Long Jump).

At the GloHealth National Combined Events Championships, there were gold medal wins for Joseph McEvoy, Nenagh Olympic A.C. in the Boys U/16 competition & Ava Fennessy, Clonmel A.C. in the Girls U/15 with silver for Anna Ryan, Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. & a 4th place finish for Orla Winston, Clonmel A.C. in the same U/15 age group. At the National Team Games, our winners were Kate Nevin & Rebecca Kavanagh, Templemore A.C. (1st U/9 Turbo Javelin), Ciara & Caitlin Shelly, Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. (2nd U/11 Turbo Javelin), Ceola Bergin & Emily Davidson, Templemore A.C. (3rd U/11 Turbo Javelin), Killian Power & Callum Costello, Carrick-On-Suir A.C. (1st U/11 Long Jump), Daithi Smith & Killian Power, Carrick-On-Suir A.C. (2nd U/11 60m), Ruairi Walsh & Michael Ryan, Nenagh Olympic A.C. (3rd U/9 Long Jump) & Carrick-On-Suir A.C. At the GloHealth National Junior & U/23 Championships in Tullamore on Saturday 3rd July there were gold medal wins for Anthony Tobin & Evan Lynch, Clonmel A.C. in the Junior & U/23 Men's 5km Walks, Sharlene Mawdsley, Newport A.C. in the Junior Women's 200m & Maria Carey, Newport A. C. in the Junior Women's Triple Jump. Silver medals were won by Mark Tierney (U/23 Discus & WFD), Dan Finnery (U/23 400mH), Paul White (U/23 400m), all Nenagh Olympic A.C., Aoife Mounsey (U/23 Triple Jump), Aoife Vaughan Witts (Junior Hammer), both Borrisokane A.C. with bronze medals for Deirbhile Ryan,  (Junior Shot Putt) & Oisin Fitzpatrick (U/23 110mH), Nenagh Olympic A.C. Congratulations to all our medal winners.

Tipp Schools Top at GloHealth Irish Schools T&F


Both Scoil Mhuire Carrick-On-Suir & Thurles CBS received top marks at the GloHealth Irish Schools Track & Field Championships in Tullamore on Saturday 4th July winning the Best Overall Intermediate Girls & Boys Schools in Ireland. Thurles CBS were also 2nd in the Junior Boys category. It was certainly girl power on the day with Sharlene Mawdsley, St. Mary's Newport/Newport A.C. winning double gold in the Senior Girls 100m & 200m & setting two new records with Miriam Daly, Scoil Mhuire COS/Carrick-On-Suir A.C. also in sparkling form taking double gold in the 80mH & 300mH. Other gold medal winners were Anthony Tobin, High School Clonmel /Clonmel A.C. in the Senior Boys 3km Walk, Adam O'Dwyer, Thurles CBS/Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. in the Junior Boys Pole Vault, Sean Carolan, St. Mary's Newport/Nenagh Olympic A.C. in the Junior Boys Long Jump, Josh Hewitt, Rockwell College in the Junior Boys Javelin & Claire Rafter, Ursuline Thurles in the Intermediate Girls 1500m.  Silver medals were won by Jack Ryan, Thurles CBS/Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. in the Junior Boys Triple Jump, Liam McDonagh, Thurles CBS/Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. in the Intermediate Boys 2km Walk & Sean Carolan in the Junior Boys Javelin. Top Marks for Thurles CBS at Munster Schools

It was a historic day for Thurles CBS who won the Munster Junior & Intermediate Boys Cups & were crowned the top overall school at the Munster Schools Track & Field Championships on Saturday 21st May in Waterford RSC. Having never won the Overall title before, the Thurles CBS boys took home the "Munster Colleges & Secondary Schools Athletics Cup" for the highest aggregrate score, which was first awarded to the High School Clonmel in 1925. Athletics continues to go from strength to stength in the school under the guidance of Ms. Marianne Kennedy, teacher in charge of athletics & the principal, Tiernan O'Donnell.  There were double gold medal wins for Jack Ryan (Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C.) in the Junior 100m & Triple Jump & Sean Mockler (Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C.) in the Inter Discus & Hammer, gold & silver for Adam O'Dwyer Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C.) in the Junior Pole Vault & the Minor 100m, gold & silver for Daniel Ryan (Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C.) in the Senior Long Jump & silver in the Pole Vault, gold for Kieren Moloney (Thurles Crokes A.C.) in the Inter 800m, silver for Liam McDonagh (Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C.) in the Inter Walk & bronze medals for Jack Hickey (Moyne A.C.) in the Inter 400m & Declan Ryan (Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C.) in the Inter Pole Vault. Their Inter 4 x 100m Relay team of Jack Hickey, Sean Mockler, Kieren Moloney & David Ryan (Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C.) also won gold on the day. Congratulations boys on a great result.

Tipperary athletes were in flying form at the Munster Schools T&F Championships in Waterford RSC on Saturday 21st May. Thurles CBS won the Overall School of the Championships as well as the Junior & Intermediate Boys Cups with the Loreto Clonmel winning the Junior Girls Cup & Scoil Mhuire Carrick-On-Suir A.C. taking home the Intermediate Girls Cup. Tipperary athletes won 2 gold, 5 silver & 2 bronze at the Munster Juvenile Combined Events Championships on home ground in Templemore on Monday 2nd May. There were gold medals for Ava Fennessy, Clonmel A.C. (GU15) & Sean Carolan, Nenagh Olympic A.C. (BU16), silver medals for Neassa Towey, Templemore A.C. (GU13), Orla Winston, Clonmel A.C. (GU15), Alex Reynolds, Nenagh Olympic A.C. (BU13), Padraic Hassett, Nenagh Olympic A.C. (BU14) & Josh Egan, Nenagh Olympic A.C. (BU15). Bronze medals were won by Ben Walsh (BU11), & Brian Naughton (BU16), both Nenagh Olympic A.C.

These Championships took place on home ground in Templemore on Monday 2nd May. Our athletes competed very well winning 12 gold, 6 silver & 3 bronze & 3 sets of gold relay medals & 1 set of silver medals. For our female athletes there was a double gold medal win for Sharlene Mawdsley, Newport A.C. in the Junior 100m & 200m, Deirbhile Ryan, Nenagh Olympic A.C. in the Junior Shot Putt & High Jump & Aoife Mounsey, Borrisokane A.C. in the U/23 Long Jump & Triple Jump. Maria Carey, Newport A.C. won gold in the Junior Triple Jump with silver medals for Aoife Delargy, Nenagh Olympic A.C. in the Junior 800m & Ciara Cummins, Nenagh Olympic A.C. in the Junior 1500m. Rebecca Ryan, Nenagh Olympic A.C. won bronze in the Junior Shot Putt with bronze for Jade O'Farrell Bond, Borrisokane A.C. in the Junior Discus. The Nenagh Olympic A.C. Junior Girls 4 x 100m took home silver in their race. Daniel Ryan, Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. took home double gold in the Junior Long Jump  & Pole Vault with gold also for Oisin Fitzpatrick, Paul White & Dan Finnerty, Nenagh Olympic A.C. in the U/23 100m, 200m & 400mH. Silver medals were won by Olah Ondrei, Templemore A.C. in the Junior 400m, Declan Ryan, Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. in the Junior Pole Vault & Mark Tierney, Nenagh Olympic A.C. in the U/23 Shot Putt & WFD with bronze for Michael Quillian, Nenagh Olympic A.C. in the 400mH. Templemore A.C. Junior Men scored double gold in 4 x 100m & 4 x 400m Relays with gold for Nenagh Olympic A.C. in the U/23 4 x 100m.

The County Tipperary Pole Vault Championships will take place in Templemore Track on Thursday 12th May for athletes U/15, U/16, U/17, U/18 & U/19. Warm Up will commence at 7pm with competition to start at 8pm. Entry is on the night & the cost is 5 euro per athlete. Guests are also welcome to take part. European Youth Decathlon Standard for Ryan


Daniel Ryan, CBS Thurles/Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. attained the European Youth Decathlon standard at the Somerset Schools Boys U/18 Decathlon on Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th April in Millfield School, Street, Somerset. Taking part in his first ever Decathlon, Ryan scored a total of 6585 points to win the competition & also exceeded the 6400 points needed for the European Youth Decathlon Standard. Ryan was one of two Irish athletes to attain a European Youth Combined Events Standard over the weekend in Somerset with Shannon Sheehy of Cushinstown A.C. winning the Girls U/18 Heptathlon & exceeding the European Youth Heptathlon standard of 4,800 points. Ryan's younger brother, Dillon won the Boys U/13 Quadrathlon at the same meet with his sister, Anna placing 13th overall in the Junior Girls Pentathlon competition. Congrats to all athletes.

The County Junior & Senior Road Championships took place in Dundrum on Sunday 17th April. There were wins for Jean Kelly, Dundrum A.C. & Jack Moore, Moyne A.C. in the Junior races with Aine Roche, Clonmel A.C. taking the Senior Women's title with silver for Mary Louise Ryan, Mooreabbey Milers A.C. & bronze for Linda Grogan, Dundrum A.C. In the Senior Men's race, the Maunsell brothers, Kevin & William, Clonmel A.C. battled it out for the medals with gold going to Kevin, silver to William & Kevin Moore, Dundrum A.C. taking bronze.

Silver for Maunsell in National 10km Champs

Congrats to Kevin Maunsell, Clonmel A.C. who powered home to a silver medal at the National 10km race at the SPAR Great Ireland Run in the Phoenix Park, Dublin on Sunday 10th April. Maunsell put in a very strong performance running 30.23 mins  just 23 seconds behind the winner, Mick Clohisey, Raheny Shamrocks A.C. with Brandon Hargreaves, DSD A.C. in 3rd place in 30.46 mins.

Tipp Athletes Compete Well at AAI Spring Throws
The AAI Spring Throws took place on Saturday 9th April in Morton Stadium. In the 1kg Discus competition, there was silver for Sean Carolan, Nenagh Olympic A.C. (39.41m) with 4th for team-mates Brian Naughton (31.95m) & 5th for Joseph McEvoy (28.34m). Brian Naughton won the 4kg Hammer competition with a throw of 49.77m with 2nd place for Sean Carolan (46.67m). John Dwyer, Templemore A.C. placed 4th in the 7.26kg Hammer with a throw of 49.31m. Joseph McEvoy won the 600g Javelin with a throw of 46.79m with 3rd for Sean Carolan (34.80m). Novice Road Title for Moore

The Munster Novice, Senior & Master 4 Mile Road Championships took place in Kilnaboy, Co. Clare on Sunday 3rd April. Kevin Moore, Dundrum A.C. took gold in the Novice Men's category with silver for Denis Shanahan, Thurles Crokes A.C. Dundrum A.C. won gold in the Novice team competition with bronze for Thurles Crokes A.C. & silver for Tipperary in the Inter County category. Aine Roche, Clonmel A.C. finshed 3rd in the Novice Women & 4th in the Senior Women's category with gold for Clonmel A.C. in the Novice competition & silver in the Senior competition. Tipperary finished with silver team medals in both the Novice & Senior Women's competitions. Yvonne O'Connor, Clonmel A.C. won silver in the Master 0/40 category with team-mate Siobhan McHugh winning bronze in the Master 0/45 competition. In the Master Men's competition, Denis Shanahan, Thurles Crokes A.C. was 3rd overall in the Masters category & 2nd in the 0/40 category with a 4th place finish for his brother Liam in the Master 0/35 competition & bronze for Bernard Feery, Fethard A.C. in the Master 0/50. Thurles Crokes A.C. took gold in the Master 0/35 Club competition with Dundrum A.C. in 3rd place & silver for Tipperary in the Inter-County competition. Congratulations to all our medal winners & to all our athletes who took part on the day.

European Master's Bronze for Moloney & McGinley

Stuart Moloney, Mooreabbey Milers A.C. put in an excellent performance in the M35 Men's 3km at the European Master Indoor Championships in Ancona, Italy on 30th March. Moloney powered home to a bronze medal in a time of 8.46.71.
Adrian McGinley, Templemore A.C.  also won a brilliant bronze medal with the Irish 4 x 200m M35 Relay team along with team-mates Brendan Leahy, Colm Lynch & Ger Cremin. Adrian also finished 15th overall in the individual M35 400m in a time of 54.38. Other Tipperary representatives over the Championships who also put in terrific performances were Hazel Galloway, Clonmel A.C. who finished 4th in the W60 60m (9.48) & 5th in the 200m (32.43) & Ross Alexander, Coolquill A.C. who was 11th in the M35 5km Walk (26.45) & 18th in the 3km Walk (15.18.88).

Boys came out on top with wins for the Carrick Girls in the U/16 & U/17 4 x 200m Relays & a new National record of 1.43.08 in the Girls U/17. Templemore A.C. took gold in both the Boys U/14 & Boys U/17 4 x 200m Relays with silver for Nenagh Olympic A.C. in the Boys U/13 4 x 100m. A Celebration for Tipp Running Legend, Patsy Fitzgerald

To celebrate Patsy Fitzgerald's athletic achievements which include winning 34 gold medals in a 10 year career which started in 1946, a plaque will be unveiled in his honour at Glengoole Community Field on Easter Sunday, 27th March at 12 noon.  All are welcome to attend with refreshments in Glengoole Hall immediately afterwards.

Tipperary athletes performed very well at Day 2 of the GloHealth National Indoor Championships in AIT Arena on Sunday 13th March. Joseph McEvoy, Nenagh Olympic A.C. won double gold in the Boys U/16 High Jump & 60mH & silver in the Long Jump, his team-mate Sean Carolan won gold in the Boys U/16 Long Jump & bronze in the Shot Putt with his sister Emma taking gold in the Girls U/12 Shot Putt. There was also gold for Jack Barnett, Templemore A.C. in the Boys U/14 Shot Putt & Aimee Hayde, Newport A.C. in the Girls U/14 800m. Adam O'Dwyer, Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. won gold & set a new National Record of 2.70m in the Boys U/15 Pole Vault with a 4th place finish for his team-mate Declan Ryan in the Boys U/18 competition. Aoife Doyle, Carrick-On-Suir A.C. won gold in the Girls U/17 60mH & bronze in the Long Jump with her team-mates Miriam Daly winning gold in the Girls U/16 60mH & Lorna O'Shea, taking bronze in Girls U/13 60mH. There was also silver for Joe Egan, Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. in the Boys U/12 600m, bronze for Armand Schoeman, Templemore A.C. in Boys U/14 60mH & bronze for Ava Fennessy, Clonmel A.C. in the Girls U/15 800m.

Success for Carrick at Scottish Indoor Championships

Congrats to Carrick-On-Suir A.C. athletes, Lorna O' Shea & Jake Costello who both won their events at the Scottish Indoor Championships over the weekend. Lorna won the Girls U/13 60mH in 10.26 (also running a pb of 9.92 in her heat) with Jake winning the Boys U/15 Long Jump with a jump of 5.66m. Caoimhe Power also competed very well placing 4th in the Girls U/13 60m in 8.40.

Silver medals went to Angela Fogarty, Moyne A.C. & Liam Shanahan, Thurles Crokes A.C. with bronze medals for Louise Fogarty, Moyne A.C. & Nigel O'Flaherty, Clonmel A.C. Moyne A.C. won gold & bronze in the Women's team competition with silver for Clonmel A.C. while in the Men's team competition, there was gold for Thurles Crokes A.C., silver for Dundrum A.C. & bronze for Clonmel A.C.

Annerville Award for Ryan


Congrats to Daniel Ryan, Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. who was awarded the Annerville "Athletics" Award for 2015 at the Annerville Star Awards in the Clonmel Park Hotel on Saturday 23rd January. Daniel had a great year of athletics in 2015 winning 13 Munster titles & 9 National titles in Hurdles, Sprints, Long Jump, Shot Putt & Combined Events & 3 International medals & has set 8 new Munster records, 5 new National records & equalled 1 Irish Schools record. He also finished 4th in the Long Jump at the European Youth Olympics in Tbilisi, Georgia last July. Rachel Ryan, Templemore A.C. was also honoured on the night with a Special Achievement Award for her gold medal win in the 400m (in a new personal best) at the Special Olympics Summer Games in Los Angeles. The Munster Juvenile Pole Vault Championships took place on
Sunday 24th January 2016 in Nenagh Indoor Stadium where the County was well represented by athletes from Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. & Nenagh Olympic A.C. Both Adam O'Dwyer & Declan Ryan, Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. set new records in the Boys U/15 (3.20m) & Boys U/18 (2.80m) competitions with gold also for their Club-mate Anna Ryan in the Girls U/15 competition. Emily Tierney, Nenagh Olympic A.C. won a silver medal in the Girls U/17 with a 4th place finish for older sister, Aoife in the Girls U/19 competition & 4th also for Club-mate Sean Carolan in the Boys U/16 competition.

Please note that due to bad weather conditions, the AAI have taken the decision to postpone the GloHealth 4km Cross Country & Juvenile "B" & Inter-County Relay Championships scheduled for Saturday 9th January. in ALSAA. The National Juvenile "B" & Inter County Relay Championships will now be held on Sunday 24th January in Dundalk I.T. with a date to be advised for the GloHealth 4km race.

Nolan Takes Double Munster Sprint Titles

Emily Nolan, Carrick-On-Suir A.C. was the standout performer for Tipperary at the Munster Junior & U/23 Indoor Championships in Nenagh Indoor Stadium on Sunday 3rd January winning both the Junior Women's 60m & 200m titles. Simon Archer, Templemore A.C. also shone in the U/23 Men's competition winning the 200m & taking silver in both the 60m & High Jump. Nenagh Olympic A.C. duo, Paul White & Tom Hennessy also won gold in the U/23 400m & 800m with silver for team-mate Michael Quilligan in the Junior 400m & double bronze for Oisin Fitzpatrick in the U/23 60m & Long Jump. Nenagh continued their winning streak with gold for Deirbhile Ryan in the Junior Shot Putt & Aoife Delargy in the Junior 800m, bronze for Alannah Deering in the Junior 800m & silver for their Junior Women's 4 x 200m Relay team.

The Munster Junior, Senior & Masters Walks Championships were held on Sunday 3rd January in Nenagh Indoor Stadium. There was a gold medal win for Anthony Tobin, Clonmel A.C. in the Junior Men's 5km Walk with silver for Ross Alexander, Coolquill A.C. in the Master Men's 3km Walk.

The Munster Juvenile & Youth Combined Event Championships took place in Nenagh Indoor Stadium on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd January. There were gold medal wins for Ceola Bergin, Templemore A.C. in the Girls U/11 with Joseph McEvoy, Nenagh Olympic A.C. also taking home gold in the Boys U/16 competition. Silver medals were won by Neassa Towey, Templemore A.C. (Girls U/13) & Ava Fennessy, Clonmel A.C. (Girls U/15) with bronze medals for Alex Reynolds, Nenagh Olympic A.C. Next Session of the Munster Performance Squad

Monday 28th December from 10am to 1pm in Nenagh Indoor Stadium is the next  Munster Performance Squad Session. Events that will NOT be covered on the day are Middle Distance, Hammer, Long Jump & Triple Jump. Athletes on those squads will be contacted with an alternative session by their co-ordinators. Events covered on the day will be 100m, 200m, 400m, long & short hurdles, pole vault, high jump, shot putt, discus, javelin, walks & combined events. Please note that all athletes have to be registered with the AAI for 2016 before they can be entered for any 2016 Munster/County competitions. The AAI Registration system for 2016 should be up & running from today (16th December). Details on the first County Online competition (Senior & Masters Indoor Championships) on 10th January will be circulated to all Clubs shortly.

Schools International Combined Events Championships
Well done to our two athletes, Jake Vermeer, Comeragh College/Carrick-On-Suir A.C. & Daniel Ryan, Thurles CBS/Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. who both competed at the Schools International Combined Events Championships in the Emirates Arena, Glasgow on Saturday 12th December. Vermeer won a bronze team medal with the Irish Junior Boys team finishing 8th overall. Ryan was unfortunate in picking up an injury in his 4th event, the long jump forcing him to withdraw from the competition & finishing in 12th place. Leading by over 300 points & on course to break the record before his injury, Ryan posted big pbs in the Shot Putt (15.97m) & the 200m (22.65) & still won a silver team medal with the Irish Inter Boys team.

The County Junior & Senior Cross Country Championships took place on Sunday 13th December in LIT Clonmel. There were County Junior titles for Orla Healy, Moyne A.C. & Michael Boland, Dundrum A.C. Senior titles went to Phil Ryan, Ballynonty A.C. & Niall McCormack, Clonmel A.C. with Clonmel A.C., Moyne A.C. & Mooreabbey Milers A.C. winning gold, silver & bronze in the Women's team event. In the Men's team event, the "A" winners were  Clonmel A.C., Dundrum A.C. & Mooreabbey Milers A.C. while in the "B" section medals went to Dundrum A.C., Clonmel A.C. & Mooreabbey Milers A.C.

National Gold for Hayde

Aimee Hayde, Newport A.C. was the standout Juvenile performer for Tipperary at the GloHealth National Juvenile Uneven Age Cross Country Championships in Dungarvan on Sunday 6th December. Hayde, winner of a National silver medal in the Girls U/14 race in Santry two weeks ago went one better in Waterford to claim the gold medal in the Girls U/13 race.  She also won a silver Inter-Provincial medal with Munster. Joe Egan, Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. & Cian Hodgins, Nenagh Olympic A.C. also won individual medals placing 5th & 9th in the Boys U/11 race with both also winning silver Inter-Provincial medals with Munster with Tipperary placing 4th in the Inter-County competition. Darragh Stakelum, Thurles Crokes A.C. also won an individual medal in the Boys U/13 placing 7th overall & a silver Inter-Provincial medal with Munster. Best of our Novice athletes was William Maunsell, Clonmel A.C. who placed 4th overall in the Men's race

The County Tipperary Post Primary Schools Cross Country Championships were held in Thurles Crokes A.C. Grounds on Wednesday 2nd December. Best overall Girls School went to the Ursuline Thurles, best Boys School was Clonmel High School & Best Community/Mixed School was Scoil Ruain, Killenaule.

Munster "B" Titles for Kennedy, Deering & Ryan

The Munster Juvenile "B" & Masters Cross Country Championships were held in Cappawhite on Sunday 29th November. Dara Kennedy, Newport A.C. (U/11), Allanah Deering, Nenagh Olympic A.C. (U/17) & Conor Ryan, Templemore A.C. (U/17) were all crowned Munster "B" Champions with silver for Ava O'Dwyer, Thurles Crokes A.C. (U/9) & bronze for  Killian Whelan, Clonmel A.C. (U/9) & Chloe Carroll, Templemore A.C. (U/11).  Tipperary had 17 other athletes who finished in a top 12 position with Munster team titles won by the County Girls U/9 & Boys U/17 teams, silver for the Boys U/9 & U/11 & bronze for the Girls U/11 & Boys U/13 County teams.

Aimee Hayde, Newport A.C. produced a stunning run in the Girls U/14 race at the GloHealth National Juvenile Even Age Cross Country Championships in Santry on Sunday 22nd November. Maunsell Brothers Compete Well in Milton Keynes XC

Brothers, Kevin & William Maunsell, Clonmel A.C. both gave excellent accounts of themselves at the Milton Keynes Cross Country race on Sunday 8th November. Kevin finished in 12th place with William in 34th. The brothers were part of a small group of Irish athletes who  travelled to the venue in preparation for the forthcoming European Cross Country Championships in December.

The Munster Juvenile Uneven Age & Senior XC Championships were held in Beaufort, Co. Kerry on Sunday 8th November. Aimee Hayde, Newport A.C. took the title in the Girls U/13 race with Ciara Cummins, Nenagh Olympic A.C. winning the Girls U/19 race.  Tipperary produced 11 other medal winners in the U/9 to U/19 age group & took home 5 sets of bronze Inter-County medals. Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C., Nenagh Olympic A.C. & Thurles Crokes A.C. also won team medals in the Inter-Cub competition. Congratulations to all our athletes who competed amid tough conditions on the day.

Irish Schools Record for Ryan at GloHealth Irish Schools CE

Daniel Ryan, Thurles CBS/Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. set the  AIT International Arena alight with an excellent performance in the Inter Boys competition to amass 3785 points & set a new Irish Schools record on Saturday 7th November.  Ryan, the defending Irish Schools Champion posted 3 new pbs on the day in the 60mH (8.15), Shot Putt (14.84) & 800m (2.11.46) to take gold. Tipperary's other 2 representatives, Jake Vermeer, Comeragh College/Carrick-On-Suir A.C. & Sean Mockler, Thurles CBS/Moycarkey Coolcroo A.C. also produced great performances to take 4th & 5th places in the Junior Boys competition finishing on 2952pts & 2835 pts. Ryan & Vermeer will now go forward to represent Ireland at the Schools International Combined Events in the Emirates Arena, Glasgow on Saturday 12th December & we wish them both the very best of luck.

Intermediate Wins for Roche & Fitzgibbon

Aine Roche, Clonmel A.C. & John Fitzgibbon, Thurles Crokes A.C. were both crowned County Intermediate Champions in the Turnpike, Two Mile Borris on Sunday 18th October. Mary Louise Ryan, Mooreabbey Milers A.C. & Phil Ryan, Ballynonty A.C. were 2nd & 3rd in the Inter Women's race with Jimmy Boland, Clonmel A.C. & Tom Blackburn, Mooreabbey Milers A.C. taking silver & bronze in the Men's race. Moyne A.C. ladies & Dundrum A.C. Men took the Team titles on the day.

GloHealth Munster Schools Combined Events Championships
These Championships were held on Wednesday 14th October in Nenagh Indoor Stadium. There was gold for Daniel Ryan, Thurles CBS in the Inter Boys competition with silver for Jake Vermeer, Comeragh College & 4th place for Sean Mockler, Thurles CBS in the Junior Boys competition. These 3 athletes will now compete at the All Ireland Schools Combined Events Championships in Athlone on Saturday 7th November & we wish them the very best of luck.

Novice Titles for Ryan & Hennessy
 
Novice Champions at the County Novice Cross Country Championships in Moyglass on Sunday 4th October were Mary Louise Ryan, Mooreabbey Milers A.C. who won the Women's title in a time of 15.29mins with Tom Hennessy, Nenagh Olympic A.C. taking the Men's title in 19.04mins.  Phil Ryan, Ballynonty A.C. & Ann Marie Boland, Clonmel A.C. won silver & bronze in the Novice Womens's race while in the Men's race, Jack Corbett, Templemore A.C. won silver with bronze for John Fitzgibbon, Thurles Crokes A.C. In the Team competitions,  Mooreabbey Milers A.C. took the Women's team title with Clonmel A.C. in 2nd & Moyne A.C. in 3rd while Thurles Crokes A.C. won the Men's title with Clonmel A.C. in 2nd place & Dundrum in 3rd.

Record Numbers at Tipp Primary Schools XC

Over 3,100 children entered the County Tipperary Primary Schools Cross Country Championships which were held in Thurles Crokes A.C. Grounds on Wednesday 30th September. 35 races for various school categories took place in Indian Summer conditions making it a very enjoyable event for all. Many thanks to the participating schools & their teachers & to everyone from the Tipperary County Board, our  Tipperary Clubs & the local schools for all their assistance. The event was covered by Irish TV & a programme will feature later in the season.

Win for O'Doherty at Tipperary Women's 10km Mini Marathon
Siobhan O'Doherty, Borrisokane A.C. was the winner of the 2015 Tipperary Women's Mini Marathon held in Clonmel on Sunday 27th September. 2nd place went to Sally Forristal, New Ross with local lady, Aine Roche, Clonmel A.C. placing 3rd.

Wins for Maunsell & Loughnane at County 10 Mile Road Championships

The County 10 Mile Road Championships were held in Ballynonty on Sunday 30th August. The clear winner of the race was Kevin Maunsell, Clonmel A.C. in 53.11 with Brian Murphy, Carrick-On-Suir A.C. in 2nd (55.04) & Danny Smith, Ballynonty A.C. in 3rd place (55.56). First woman home was Madeline Loughnane, Thurles Crokes A.C. in 1.07.44 with Aine Roche, Clonmel A.C. in 2nd (1.08.24) & Dymphna Ryan, Dundrum A.C. in 3rd (1.10.09).
