Four Munster titles for Aoife Bartley
Aoife
Bartley of Carrick on Suir Athletic Club was one of the stars at the
Munster Juvenile Indoor Championships, in Nenagh on Saturday &
Sunday the 6th & 7th of March 2010. Competing at under 19 Aoife won the 60m Hurdles High Jump, Long Jump & Triple Jump

Race
No 2 of the Moyne 5km fun runs was held on Sunday the 7th of March
2010. There was a good turnout with great interest on the comparisons
with race 1 in January.

Templemore Athletic Stadium Design
Following
on from the recent awards to Sean Naughton, Emby Walsh and Thomas
Chamney, Templemore Athletic Club was feted at a function in the
Burlington Hotel, in Dublin on the 30th January 2010
The occasion was
the annual Local Authorities Management Association Awards
(LAMA) These awards are made under a variety of
headings and incorporate all aspects of architectural design
during the previous three years

Intermediate Road Double For Clonmel
The
County Intermediate Road Championships were held in Ballyneale on
Sunday the 28th of February 2010. Clonmel scored a double team
success winning both the ladies and mens races.

3 Munster Cross Country Titles For Tipp Schools
The
Munster Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships were held at
Cork I.T on Saturday the 26th of February 2010 with tipperary schools
winning 3 of the eight titles on offer. Ursuline Thurles had two wins (
Minor & Senior girls) with Loreto Clonmel capturing the Junior

& Girls under 15 championships were held in Boyle County Roscommon

Nenagh Tops in County Juvenile Indoors
Carrick on Suir Best in Juniors
Day one of the Tipperary Indoor
Championships were held in Nenagh on Saturday the 20th of February
2010. In the Junior events Carrick on Suir were best winning 7 of the
15 titles on offer while Nenagh Olympic dominated the juvenile
events winning 37 of the 65 titles down for decision.

There
was a sizable contingent of Tipperary athletes competing at the
Scottish Indoor Championships , in Glasgow, on Saturday & Sunday
the 13th & 14th of February 2010. Overall performances were very
good with Sean Tobin of Clonmel and Nenagh Olympic Athlete Deirbhile
Ryan both winning Gold

both their ladies & men's teams recorded wins, just shading it

Emby Walsh & Thomas Chamney
The
2009 Annerville Awards were held in the Minella Hotel, Clonmel on
Saturday the 30th January 2010. These are annual awards which honour
people and teams in Sport right across the County of Tipperay
Tipperary Athletics is delighted that two athletics people were honoured
on the night. Emby Walsh from Carrick on Suir received the Sean
Lyons Sports Executive Award and Thomas Chamney was named athlete of
the Year

Munster Awards For Tipp Athletes
The
Annual Munster star Awards Banquet was held in the Brandon Hotel,
Tralee on Saturday night the 30th of January 2010. Three Tipperary
Athletes were honoured on the night , They were Shane O''Dwyer Carrick
on Suir , Aoife Bartley Carrick on Suir & Sean Tobin. Clonmel
Tipperary was named as the best County in the Juvenile Indoor Championships of 2009

Moyne Road Race a Big Success
The
5km road race in Moyne on Sunday the 31st of January 2010 proved a big
succes . The local club and the County board were both very
happy with the arrangements and turnout.

in the over 75 category Patrich Naughton of Nenagh Olympic was the
outstanding athlete in in Woodie's DIY AAI indioor championships in
Nenagh on Sunday 24th of January 2010. In all Pat won five
titles, the Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Putt & the 60 and 200 metres

Celtic Success For Sean Tobin
Clonmel
athlete, Sean Tobin, put in an outstsanding performane when competing
in the Celtic Cross Country International, in Antrim, on Saturday the
23rd of January.
Competing at under 17 Sean finished 2nd in the race and led the Athletics Ireland team home

weekend of the 16th & 17th of January 2010 was a very busy one
in athletic with Munster & National Championships down for decision
The big Tipperary winner was Siobhan O'Doherty of Borrisokane
when she became Munster senior Cross Country Champion in Carraig na
Bhfear on the Sunday. At the same venue Tipp County Junior women &
Juvenile relays also were in the medals The other action was in

The World Mountain Running Championships,
held in Italy on Sunday 6th of September 2009, saw Tipperary Athletes,
Christopher O'Brien, Thurlers Crokes, leading home the Irish team
in the Junior Race while Siobhan O'Doherty of Borrisokane was 2nd Irish

Evan Lynch wins in England
Evan
Lynch, of Clonmel Athletic Club, won the Boys Under 15 3000m Walk title
at the England under 15 & 17 Track and Field Championships, in
Bedford on Sunday the August 2009.
This latest success , following on his win in the Irish Championships in July, makes him an outstanding prospect for the future

Coolquill, in theTriple Jump have been selected to represent Athletics Ireland in
the
Celtic Games , in Wales on Saturday the 1st of August 2009. Emby Walsh
