Good Start to 2009 For Tipp Athletes
Tipperary athletes made a very encouraging start to 2009 at the Munster Senior & Junior Indoor Championships in Nenagh on Sunday the 4th of January.  Overall six titles were won with Aoife Bartley, Carick on Suir, achieving a double. Other winnera were Keith Maher, Thurles Crokes,  Shane Prout, Coolquill ,  Chloe Fahy, Nenagh Olympic & Catriona Rayn Templemeore

Record Entry in St Stephen's Day Race in Clonmel
The annual Tony O'Connell 4 mile road race, in Clonmel, on St Stephen's Day 2008, had a record entry.  The winner was Sandis Bratilis, West Waterford while the number one lady was Siobhan Doherty of Borrisokane

Dundrum Top Cross Country Club 2008
Following a team double at the Masters & Under 23 Cross Country Championships at Longrordpass , on the 14th of December, Dundrum were pronounced the  Non Juvenile Cross Country Club of the year for 2008

Thurles Crokes Dominate Juvenile Relays

At the Juvenile Cross Country Relays,on the 14th of December, Thurles Crokes won four of he seven titles on offer. Nenagh Olympic with two wins and Moycarkey Coolcroo were the other winners.  The fixture, which was hosted by Moyne Athletic Club was held at Longford Pass, Gortnahoe.

Individual & Team Medals For Tipp in Cavan
Tipperary Teams won four sets of team mddals at the National Juvenile Cross Country Championships, in Cavan on  Sunday the 7th of December.  In the contests for Individual honours Edward Hynes, of Templemore, did best finishing 3rd at under 15 with team mate Sean Tobin of Clonmel in 4th place

Munster Individual Gold for Tipp Athletes

Graham Butler, Dundrum & Niall McIntyre, Nenagh Olympic, won individual gold  at under 19 and under 11 at the Munster Ctoss Country Championships in Killeagh VCo Cork on Sunday the 30th of November. In the Masters championships , at the same venue, Kenny Curran, Ballynonty,  was 3rd in the over 35 category while Dundrum won teeam silver in the same race

Gold for Moyne Athlete at National Cross Country

Ciara Cummins of Moyne Athletic Club was Tipp's top athlete at the National Cross Country Championships on Sunday last the 23rd of November.    Ciara, competing in  the under 12 age group, was an imporessive winner and let Tipperary to silver. In the inter club events Thurles Crokes won bronze in the boys under 12

Dundrum Take Novice Title
The County "B" Juvenile Cross Country championships were held in Ballynonty on Sunday the 16th Of November.  Moyne were top club with two team wins with Dundrum & Moycarkey Coolcroo winning one each. In the Novice Men Race Dundrum emerged the winners

Munster Cross Country Gold for Tipp
The second day of this year's Cross Country Season took place at Cooraclare, Co Clare, on Sunday last the 9th of November.  In the 14 race programme Tipperary was represented in all but one race, winning 19 sets of team medals, including three gold, by both club &   County Teams.

Thurles Crokes Men and the Ladies from Clonmel are the Senior Cross Country Champions for  2008 after yesterdays races in Ballingarry.  Thurles Crokes also won the Junior Title

Congratulations to Patsy Dorney, of Thurles Crokes, on being selected as Thurles person of the the year 2008. This prestigious honour is very well deserved  as Patsy is one of the best cross country coaches in Ireland and year after year had turned out National winners, both individual and team.

Cidona Primary Schools Cross Country Details

The Clonmel Athletic Club Primary Schools Cross Country  promotion proved to be a great success. Held in the Marlfield GAA Grounds, in Clonmel, on Wednesday the 22nd of October was supported by schools from South Tipperary and surrounding areas. Good Day for Tipp at Munster Cross Country
Tipperary Clubs & Athletes took full advantage of home venue on Sunday last the 19th of October. The occasion was  the Munster Juvenile, Novice & Under 23 Cross Country championships at the Turnpike.  In all 25 sets of team medals were won by our Club and  County teams

Dundrum & Clonmel Comlete Novice/Intermediate Double.
t the Turnpike on Sunday the 12th of October Dundrum, (Men)  & Clonmel (Ladies) added the Intermediate titles to their Novice crowns won the previous Sunday.  In the individual contests Angila McCann, Clonmel completed the double while John Shanahan of Dundrum improved on his silver in the Novice.

Thurles Crokes Number One Again
On the sceond day of this years County Juvenile Cross Country  Championships, at the Turnpike, on Sunday 12th of October, Thurles Crokes again domimnated, winning six team titles. Moycarkey Coolcroo were the host club  on this occasion and again everything was spot on at the Turnpike.

Novice Team Titles for Dundrum & Clonmel
Dundrum energed as winners, on count back,  of the Men's County Novice Cross Country Championship in Dunkerrin  on Sunday the 5th of October 2008, finishing  level on poins with Thurles Crokes.  Clonmel emerged easy winners of the ladies race.
